Ronnie and I made Cookie Dough Ornaments to adorn a Rosemary Tree Centerpiece. A neighbor had given us some premade dough. The dough consists of applesauce, cinnamon, glue and glitter. It smells quite nice. Ronnie and I worked on the ornaments one morning last week while the other kids were at school. We let them air dry on a wire rack for a few days. My parents came in to town on Friday for Ronnie's Birthday. We were consumed with party preparation and had not yet finished the ornaments. All they needed was a quick coat of spray shellac and a ribbon through the holes Ronnie and I had poked through the top of the ornaments before we set them out to dry. Imagine my surprise when we found out that shortly after dad's arrival, he had eaten one of the gingerbread shaped ornaments. This became the topic of conversation over the weekend and we all would get a chuckle at dad's expense. When Josh was home over the weekend, I began telling him how grandpa had eaten one of the Christmas ornaments and Josh replied "Those weren't cookies???" He was very serious. Apparently, one night after work last week, he too nibbled the head off of one of the gingerbread shaped ornaments. He said he spit it out because it didn't taste good. I guess he didn't say anything because he didn't want to hurt my feelings. I laugh every time I look at my Rosemary Centerpiece.
